TV show On Fishkeeping needed

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
um excuse me, but I watch re-runs on animal planet all day, im sure they can squeeze in a fish show for an hour , once a week, gosh. They could visit all the public aquariums and perhaps ,,,the ocean's many different tidepools ;) How many of you have been to the shark reef in las vegas, or sea world san diego, well the show could take you there without the price of admission. Also the discovery channel has told me all about the new found species of sea squirt deep in an innactive volcano, but they have never shown me the real deal about things like needle nose gars. I would be happy if they just plopped a camera in a lake and let me watch.
Im not interested in just keeping fish , I want to recreate there natural environment (minus the predators that prey on that particular species) how can I do that if I cant even find a picture of these fish in there real natural habitats. Dont get me wrong I will come close but no cigar,,, until discovery channel kicks it into gear. No offense guys but why the heck would I want to discover an american chopper, and golf is just plain boring ;}
I want to know about The Nile river, and about the brine shrimp they found in the Salt Lake River that were fossilized in a rock, and people got them wet and they hatched, hundreds of years later. Have you heard about the water bear? well you wont if your watching mtv..

BTW, I am soooo down for this fish show thing....

I would watch a fish show.It would be tough to make a show that kept the interest of serious keepers and enough general stuff for everyone else to watch

Agreed. I wouldn't watch a show that had segments aimed at beginners, but that would most certainly have to be the format. The DIY network has numerous hobby oriented shows that would fall into that category. Sorry guys. Just no money in a show about fish.

However, I think a podcast or webcast with limited video would be feasible. There is an online magazine called Reefkeeping has been a real success so far. There is a ton of great information for the advanced reef hobbyist there.

In a different thread I had reccomended two fishkeeping shows: Pimp My Tank and Extreme Makeover- Monster Fish Keeper Edition. I stand by my ideas.

there should be

amen..

Pimp My Tank
Disco ball in my tank? I'll pass thanks! :ROFL:

I'd watch MFK TV though! Even if it was just going round to peoples houses and looking at their monster set ups in detail!
