It's a fish though.

I'm inclined to go with bderick and say bull shark. That was that whole fiasco in 1916 on the Jersey Coast with one getting up a creek and eating a few people. (There is a great book about that. I read it a few years ago so the title escapes me, but it's definitely a worthwhile read.)

...a part of them can detect movement and even heartbeats of burried prey in the ocean floor.

...Their mouth is located on it's flat underside.
