agreed. unfortunately fish like silver arowana, red tail cats, oscars, etc depreciate as they get bigger. ive seen silver arowanas as big as yours given away for free more than sold- the feeding and size may not be worth it to some.

Fish do NOT depreciate as they get bigger.. they get more expensive.. i dont know where u get your facts.. and besides.. your a bad fish seller i dont expect you to know the prices...

Why don't y'all take a good look at the pictures? Those aros were well taken care of. If you can't afford, or have no mean to house and care for those, move on and let the guy sell his fish. I also hope you guys know what does OBO mean! Bump for some nice adult silver aros

Not quite...Have you ever seen an adult Siver Arowana?

Many fish that get huge do in fact depreciate in value. That's why many can't even give fish such as ID Sharks and Pacu away. In the case of the Silver Arowana...I wouldn't say they lose value, but they definitely don't gain much.

Anyway...Bump for some nice looking Aro's!

I guess maybe certain fish? I dont know too much about other species, but in the case of silver arows.. i know they arent cheap when they are big... Blacks too.. black arows go for $110-$150 at 6", and 12"+ go for $250..

Completely different fish. You need take the rarity of each fish into consideration. Blacks are less available, therefore they command a higher price. Silver Aros are pretty common in most areas, so the price is usually reasonable.

This chatter deserves another thread. Let the guy sell his fish in peace!

Then why add to it?

I'm done....good luck on the sale!

take the arguments to the general discussion thread. let the man sell the fish. he hasnt spoken a word since the arguement started. GL with the sale man hope you find a good home for those aros

fish do depreciate in value....... and thats not just talking about money- its taking into consideration feeding, size, maintenance, etc. but of course your simple brain can't understand that. all of that i mentioned in the thread as well. of course im not talking about some asian arow, or most other fish. but in socal people have had better luck giving away their fish for free (silver arows included) or selling for the same price they bought it for than trying to get some exorbitant amount of money.

for example how many people here are GIVING AWAY their oscars, pacus, common plecos, etc for free as opposed to people selling trying to sell it for $20-$50 when they bought it for 5?

and red- i simply was giving a suggestion. your fish are beautiful but if someone suggests you can get $150 for them now since you paid $20 for them when they are 5 inches, they are wrong.

the idea you should go to an LFS just proves my point that you can't get fair value from fishkeepers for what you think.
