Sorry for your loss buddy, just be more careful in future.

These little Dats need to be in a small tank like a 10 gallon bare bottom with a seeded sponge filter & a good heater. Java moss is good for cover. I have had 25 in a ten & not lose one fish. Feed once a day or twice small amounts. I would not use a faucet siphon etc. Use a air line attached to a 3/16" rigid tube to vac waste off the bottom. Condition the water before putting into their tank by bucket. Then you do not have to worry sucking them up & down the drain. Plus a small tank makes it easy for them to find the food etc.. Graduate them up to larger aquariums as they grow & are stronger swimmers then use a good canister filter with biological & bio chem zorb for filtering & a power filter for just mechanical.
This is just my opinion & what I think should be done for these little guys.

sorry to hear losing the little fellows.

I agree^^^

sorry for your loss. Know how you feel. Recently I'v lost 600 pcs of 1 inch indos just because one bottle of oxytetcrcylin dropped accidentally to the tank, making the tank water very yellow and causing my tinny datz became died bodies. Same as you I was about giving up this hobby but I think Im too far in loving this hobby and cant stop just because something rarely happened. Keep on keeping this beauty

WTF!:WHOA: THAT IS 600 LESS INDOS IN THE WILD

You use a phyton on fish the size of a nickel UN-ATTENDED ? I am sorry, but that's dumb and stupid IMO. Mistakes happens, we all make them. But you should see this one coming before hand. I cover all the filter intake with a foam to prevent any baby indos from being suck into the filter.

Think Proactive (before hand) versus Reactive (after the fact)

Jeezus, his fish died and you just call him dumb and stupid? Every hobbyist will make careless mistakes at some point. If you've got nothing nice to say, just be quiet. That's common courtesy.

Kinda mean, rude, and unnecessary IMO. I doubt the OP posted to hear someone call him dumb and stupid.
