Two year old mauled to death by five pitbull mixes

I had a german shepard mix when I was younger, it maimed my whole hand. no matter how much we educate, there will always be the ignorant and it will happen again I guarantee it. we can still try, but really it seems like just bad luck.

i agree but we should NOT forget things like this, things like this should really make people think long and hard about getting any powerful dog....well any dog really but like MN_Rebel said i have yet to hear about a death by chiuahua's. i've been around pitbull that were with people i know were responsible and they were sweet dogs but i have also seen pitbulls that were in the wrong hand and have actually attacked me when walking my dog.....so yeah i'm not against pitbull far from it i want to buy an american bully but i have many years of experience with dogs and semi powerful breed such as german shepards , boxers and bull dog mixes and that's something alot of people don't have

Just looked it up presently there's only 1 recorded death by chihuahua between 1982-2012 http://images.bimedia.net/documents/Dog+attack+stats+with+breed+2012.pdf. Honestly I think it comes down to people taking their animals for granted. They see dogs as a pet that only needs food, water and walks, it's why people throw them in the yard with water and food and think there all done. Most don't research the breed or even know how to choose a puppy. They just figure the dog comes programmed to be well behaved or to be not dangerous.

sorry to hear that but we can both agree that the GS is a powerful/semi powerful breed and it thought should be given before buying and that is exactly what people don't do, they see a cute little puppy and buy it and yeah i agree there will always be ignorant people who don't learn from other's mistakes

my mom got it as a birthday gift, we gave it to a breeder when we left Poland. now, about dogs as gifts..

oh no im not saying you bought it without knowing im just saying ALOT! of people do and dogs as gifts is a HORRIBLE idea
 
can happen with any pet. on PFK a piranha keeper had his kid lose a finger thanks to a piranha, and a betta went up a kids manhood.
