Tydus's Goliath Tiger Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Damn man you've done an incredible job raising this guy. He's starting to look like a true monster

Thanks a lot guys!!! I haven't been on mfk for a while. Too busy with life, no time for my fish lol. Wes I was thinking bad water but I'm thinking parasites or some bacterial infection? It doesn't affect the tiger at all, still eats, swims and behaves normal.

8-9" maybe bigger by a little. I have 2 hampala barbs in the same tank that were measured at 7" a couple months ago. I use that to measure everyone in the tank lol.

How are the hampalas? Thinking about them I really like them seems aggressive enough to hang with a dorado and more predatory than a masheer

The hampalas are just like mahseers but definitely more predatory. They are really active and eat a lot! They do chase each other sometimes but it's rare for me to see that. It's also nothing serious. I've never had a dorado but I know they can get nasty. If you have the space I think you should be fine.

How would you compare them to masheers? I've been thinking about cool dithers and your beautiful GATF is looking great with those supposedly aggressive barbs.

Thanks! I wished his eye would go back to normal though. The hampalas are very peaceful in my experience. I once had a bangana behri, that thing kicked my hampalas' ass lol. Anyways, the hampalas don't mess with anyone but themselves and when they do it's nothing too bad. They totally leave my Goliath alone, I've never had a problem with anyone messing with the Goliath. In comparison to mahseers they're the same really, they're active, swim a lot, eat a lot and mind their own business. I have a putitora in there too and they all do great. I don't think you will regret getting hampalas. Best way to find out is always to try out yourself.
