Lol! It's a 100% green Asian aro. A low grade RTG won't even look like that. To those who said low quality RTG should just stop guessing as it will confuse the OP more. When you're not certain don't post. Lol!

Well, first of all, I have kept asian arowana, I have not lived in the states my whole life. 2nd, I don't disagree with the idea of not posting out of ignorance, if someone had said that this fish was a silver or african, that is ignorant and clearly based on nothing. I was basing my opinion on what I noticed about the fishes body shape and color, true I did not do an in depth analysis but I doubt that anyone else did either. I took a look at the fish and formed an honest opinion like everyone else. bottom line is, there was no reason to be crass and demeaning. This is supposed to be a website of hobbyists who respect, and try to help each other, not put others down because they feel they are "superior" in some way.

Actually, he has a good point. Perhaps, you're the one who needs You may have read wrong thing, and seen wrong pics, so unless you're certain, your opinion does confuse the OP.

Whoa...!!! out didn't mean to try to knock peoples opinion but my point is not to just randomly guest as it can confuse the OP as he want proper ID for his fish.

Not banjar, It's even way off to be a banjar.

Ok this what most peope thinks why most people thinks they are RTG or banjar is because probably of the purple color tail. It's common for green aro to have a purple or silvery tail. Depends on the environment. Not many people pay attention to green aro as most thinks they are just silvery color all over the body with greenish tint. Then when they see a green with a high contrast of purple fin they assume it's a RTG.

here are types of green aro.
Banjar red aka 1.5 red

Yellowtail also called banjar red

True green aro (pure bloodline)

Pics above show the color tail difference.

Compare to a RTG. The dorsal fin have some darker shades just above the dorsal fin and the caudal tail also have darker shade just on the upper caudal area and anal fin is red in color. A green arowana will not have the dark shaded color on the dorsal and upper caudal fin.
