There hasn't been much if any talk on MFK of the situation in the Philippines and I know we have a nice amount of Filipino members here..I hope everyone there can recover from this disaster.

A friend of mine has quite a bit of family in the Philippines. They're in the northern part that didn't get hit too hard. They're all fine so I haven't heard all that much about it since the typhoon passed, just what I hear on radio news breaks.

I sure have seen a lot on the news.. it reminds me of all those hurricanes that blow away half of Haiti or the D.R. or other unfortunate islands,,, last confirmed death toll I HEARD was well over 2,000...almost as many deaths as 9/11 and they probably are just a fraction into the count, as they try to" recover" ....my thoughts go out to them daily

Who else? China and to some extent Taiwan over territorial claims. Their coast guard actually killed a Taiwanese fisherman.

I've been hearing a little about this China/Philippine spat... funny thing is not from my wife who is from the Philippines. She's from the far north and her family was spared from this
