Hopefully your not considering hillstream's for much algae consumption. They do clean but are no where close to a "cleaner" fish IMO. Their needs are on the extreme side of what most community fish need to thrive. Thriving fish, burn lots of energy and require lots of food to fuel said energy, in slower moving water tanks they survive but will do little to help with algae control. They really do need the "stream" in the "hillstream" namesake, it's their natural habitat.
(they get fat and lazy in the average hobbiests tank IMO)
