If they means interstate transportation do they means ground or air?

Here... it's pretty much illegal to ship live animals through the postal system. So if we want anything, we would have to drive them ourselves or go through a aerial shipment.

surely that means you cannot take them across any boarders... either through mail, air or ground or in person...

i havent read the links yet but i will,is this something that we will need a solid person from here to gather letters from all of us and send in or something we need to do individualy? We need a leader, lol.

Just checking Dave. I was just wondering what they were proposing. If shipping by air is allowed, the hobby is not screwed yet since there are several countries that only allow this. Nonetheless, you guys should fight to allow ground shipping. It sucks having to having to pay a $200 plane ticket to ship them from another province up here.

Thats absurd, and its another way for the govt to control another aspect of our lives. Licensing would be the best alternative.

Kioka, yeah all interstate shipping would be banned (except the given exceptions of course). So if someone tried shipping a blood python across state lines through courier, the courier could potentially be in violation of the Lacey Act.

Do you really have to pay $200 to ship air? I got a snake in this week and it only cost $50 shipping to the east coast from the Rockies.

Wow, that sucks for the snake keepers. I hope they don't ban geckos, or Ryan will dive off his roof head first.

Ah, a ban on civilians transporting them in-between states is not so bad. I dont plan on taking mine anywhere with me.
By the way, shipping usually costs me 30-40$ across country.

If I want it from Eastern Canada, then it would cost me between $155 to $220. If I want a snake from B.C. or Saskatchewan, it will cost me about $95 or so by air.

I could go with a cheaper fare with West Jet instead of Air Canada, but they just placed restriction on live shipment recently.

You don't plan on taking yours anywhere, but what about the breeders and keepers who have them shipped across the country?
