I have not been posting pics of my fish/tanks much lately and have redone every tank and cleaned up my stock for each tank.. Thought I would share my Uaru Amphiacanthoides pair. The female is the larger of the two. Just did a WC tonight so the pics are not the best (stains etc..) sorry about that but I do not own a DSLR... I have nice fish so whatever. :grinno:

The female and my largest male Rotkeil do not get along well. I may have to move him to the 300g soon, they square off quite often. The plan has always been to move him though as I already have a juvie (m/f combo) for this tank. Hoping those two will pair up in the next few months after I move him.

very nice, i love uarus but i just dont have the space for any right now

Thanks CJ. :) yeah they get pretty big, the male is just over 6" and she is just over 8". That's why her and the rotty don't get along so well, they are the two biggest fish in the tank.

Very nice pair.

Unsure on age. The male was about 3" back in June 2009 when I got him, the female obviously older. Not a very fast grower IME.

They are a great cichlid. Very confident but not really aggressive for an SA. From the pics you can see they are not so much of a push over, but will stand their ground. They will eat ANYTHING including fake plants. I would never keep them with plecos, ever. Every piece of wood in that tank is covered in teeth marks. It's actually quite funny to watch them knaw on DW.
