thaats awesome to hear, i really want one but am too worried that they would fight with my big gold severum and chocolate cichlid :(

I would not worry about severums much at all. Even though mine squabble its only with one and he is the aggresor, and only right after WC's for some reason. My gold could care less. I've never owned a chocolate and probably never will so I can't say on that one, sorry...

Please do post a pic in here! I would love to see one that large! I'd start a "let's see those Uaru" thread but there would only be a couple of us who would add pics of them lol. Not too many MFK'ers seem to care for these guys.

Someone tried to start a uaur photo thread it did not go over well be the few that did post had some great lookig fish. I would like to see others uaur.

I would post mine but they look like poo they were rescued from people that did not care at all about them.

Oh what the heck here they are. The HITH is getting better it's been a week since these photos were taken. I need to get new ones. Not the best looking uaru I know.

Good for you for taking them in. ;) You have your work cut out for you bringing them back to prime condition based on those pics. You can really tell how a person cares for their fish if you see close ups on a Uaru.... Keep that water pristine and try and double up on the WC's until they heal up. (add salt and add bump up the temp to 84 degress, they will love it and heal faster). They prefer higher temps anyway.

I would LOVE to see them in 6 months after in your care. :D

I have vitamines for them too. I do daily wc and the heat is 82f was lower before because I had heater problems. They do love warm water I have learned that already.

The holes look bad but they were not that deep. I will add new photos of them soon. One had a dent in his back I don't know what that's from but he is more out going of the 2.

Hey Eric! My comment was driven towards my experience, it was an epic pain trying to get food to my plecos because the Uaru would eat anything and play "steal the food from the pleco"... I eventually got rid of the pleco's because I got tired of feeding them in the middle of the night. :irked:

Luckily, my L-114 is most active at night, when my fish were (for the Uaru and 3 geo abalios that died when my 125 had a weird disease which luckily seems to have cleared up) asleep, so I could easily throw carnivore and shrimp pellets to him..
It was very weird, my Uaru wouldn't go after any pellets... instead, he/she loved the freeze dried krill I would give to my sev, festivs, and hujeta gar.
