You don't have charcoal or Purigen in the tank, right? That will pull the meds out of the water. The water should be blue from the QuickCure for at least a few hours.

I would also keep the lights off. Some meds work better if the fish are kept dark.

No, not running any chemical filtration until the treatment is complete. It did stain the water blue though. I found quick cure under the name "quick ich +".

Hello all. Sorry about the long wait between updates. Little sickly guy is STILL getting treated. Still recovering and shedding the last of the ich. The others though, look great. Judging by their behavior the largest two have paired off. They are always together and pushing the smaller ones away from the left side of the tank. Got myself a TDS meter which is useful as ive started the process of slowly softening the water even more. Current tds is about 45, down from 120 over the last couple of water changes. My tap? 513 ppm this morning. I hate San Diego. I'm going to shoot for about 25-30 ppm, which is the best information I can find about what their natural water is actually like. Read here:

And now pics.

I saw a group of these at the lfs yesterday and nearly bought one, decided against it as I'm not sure how one would do alone.

I guess I'll just continue to enjoy yours vicariously! Great job with them

Looking good, hopefully everything settles down when the ich clears up. I too, am a huge fan of mickey mouse clubhouse.

if I were you,I would use R/O water with Kent marines R/O right. Then you control how soft or hard you want the water to be. I use it for Discus and Angel fish. Never had any problems.

Quick update, I think little dude is finally giving up. He's hardly eating, stayed laying on the substrate in a corner all day today and it looks like he's developing popeye. I'm considering culling him.
