The more I look at it the harder time I have understanding what's going on. The mouth looks beaky but I can't tell if its the head making me think that. Either way it messes with my head.

I have a group of Altum acclimated to tap water. The key is the initial acclamation, once accomplished consistency is the most important aspect. Don't mess wit the chemistry. The best wat I've found to use almond leaves or peat is making a tea. I simmer about ten leaves in a big pot for an hour, let it cool and store it in the frig. At every water change of say 50% add the same percentage of tea to keep the same concentration. If you can successfully acclamate the fish to your tap water you will have a much easer time of it.

I don't think acclimating the ferns to my tap would be a good idea in the long run. My tap is very hard and alkaline. I've read they don't do so well in hard water.

Yes! The new ones are eating well, and are much more confident. They did turn grey though. I'm starting to wonder why none of my pandas are white. The bigger ones were white when they first went in to the tank. Anyone have any information on their coloration?

Pandas don't tend to stay white unless they're spawning. It's also dependent on their surroundings. In a dark tank with dark substrate/decorations they will be dull looking.

I don't know how I missed this but I'm glad I finally found it. Seeing your posts and experience gives me confidence. Continue to keep us posted.

Beetlebug515 Beetlebug515 you've been quiet how are the new guys doing?
