Got it. I'm also going to move my UV back to that tank. By "slightly more" are you saying another 1 tsp per gallon?

All 5 of them have it. This particular one just has is very very bad. I don't have any other tanks set up that I could quarantine the fish in. None of the fish are really responding to treatment, but they're not getting any worse either.

Ditch the salt and find some QuickCure fast. It's also sold under other names but essentially it's a mixture of formalin and malachite green. I've used it on discus with heat-resistant strains of ich. Remember that there are other Protozoa that look like ich. Follow the instructions. On QuickCure it's 2 drops per gallon and I do that daily for three days with huge water changes in between.

After an ich infestation that bad, you'll likely see secondary bacterial infections, so be prepared for that.

In the future use a quarantine tank! It's not worth risking your livestock over something that's easy to prevent.

i typically get the tank as warm as the fish can handle and do salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. I have doubled his without issue with the pandas. The other option is a product like ick quickcure. These can work well do but I do not do the salt with them nor do I crank the temp. hot water drives out oxygen and so does formalin.
also remember either treatment does not treat all life stages of ick. siphon the gravel daily to get the "cysts" out of the gravel.

Thanks Charney Charney , I've been posting my progress in the disease thread. Currently in the middle of a formalin dip on the worst one and did the first treatment with quick cure after a 50% water change. No salt this time. I'll be honest in saying that disease treatment is not my strong point, and it is difficult to pick out one particular way to treat a disease. Heat, no heat, salt, no salt, etc. This med that med. I'm going to stick with the quick cure and heat and hopefully see some improvement in the next few days.

sounds like a plan but be careful with heat and quickcure. I would run extra air stones

I agree. I've added an extra long bubble wand and another large airstone. Along with 2 filter outlets breaking surface tension. Should be enough, but I'll keep a close eye on them. So far none are hanging out at the surface.
