LOL, a bit passive aggressive? Side pic now that the water has cleared. I think I'm finally approaching what could be reasonably called "blackwater".

Oh isyours in a 75? For some reason i thought a 250 but idk where that came from lol

Sorry i wasnt aiming it at you, i was just saying that i wouldnt do it. Mainly because, while i think a single foot long fish is fine, a group of 3-4 8/9" fish is too much for sure, becuase i dont think i could maintain the water quality for them, esp for a fish as sensitive as these. Just wouldnt happen with me.

You seem to be doing a much better job than i could so more power to you.

Lol. Just giving you a hard time. No offense taken whatsoever. They did spend a couple of days in my 250 before I was able to clear out my 75 for them. You have a valid point though. As I'm sure you can see, my wife and I dedicate a ton of time and resources to these guys. Water changes for them take about 4 hours from start to finish and are done every 3 days, lighting is tightly controlled, parameters are watches constantly. And i still lost one of them. It's a lot of work that a bigger tank would make much easier, or at least less frequent.

Did the Fernandez pick at your options at all? I also thought you had some U. Amph somewhere.

I would not be able to maintain that ever... Just no way. 4 hours across a few tanks once a week is all well, but for just one and double the frequency? Thats but really no thanks

I sold the amphs. They were getting beat on in the big tank (pbass) and I didnt want that high of a bioload in the same tank as the ferns. That would have been 11 large cichlids in the 75. I do really love amphs though. I'll have some more one day.

So the pandas seem to be on a hunger strike. All I can get them to eat is bloodworms. Current parameters:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate >5
PH 6.1
Temp 82
Tds 30

I have been slowly making changes to the water, could this be causing them to fast? By slow I mean very slow. I dropped their temp over 3 days from 85 to to 82. They are still active though.

On another note, I'm thinking of going with muriatic acid to continue to push the ph down. Peat seems to haveensure stuck at 6.1.

I wouldn't put it past them but I also wouldn't offer bloodworms too much if its only been three days, if they were eating well before. My fish never seemed to mind temp drops from 82 to 76, but this is for wc so it was short exposure. Could pandas be that sensitive? Maybe. No opinion on messing with your ph, at this point I'm sure you know more than me. I meant to ask if they picked at your pothos at all, but then I looked at the plants in there. Do they not take them to chow town?

It's been almost two weeks since they were last eating healthy. I think I'm going to go ahead and treat for parasites. Metro and prazi. As far as the plants, they pick at them every now and then, but for the most part they leave then alone. If I put any soft plants in there though, they get destroyed.
