Round 1 went horribly wrong last year. Decided to try again and got 18 juvies today (2-3"). I'll update in this thread periodically. Wish me luck and that this thread would go on for years :)

It's all because I couldn't get that big boy from you! ;)

He's still kicking. Can't have much time left though. He's starting to look a little rough.

You can definately keep and breed these fish Peter. I have faith that you will reward me we a bag of fry in a year or 2 :).

You got it JD :) I just hope some of them can make it. I'm going to add a big internal UV in a couple of days.

You will be fine. Just have to make it through the first adjustment period. The are very sensitive to ick so quarenteen like crazy before you mix any other fish with them.

Too late - they are with some caidinals and young G. brokopondo to help them relax. The tank is at 87F though and I dumped some salt in it too.

Good luck Pete, they are on my bucket list. I was thinking at 87 ick shouldn't be a problem. If they are WC I might suspect salt would be more stressful at this point. Why not just filter through peat or add some extract to acidify the water knocking down the ph a little might help them settle them and the little bugs don't like a low ph. Of course you might be doing this already in that case never mind....lol. Thank looks great BTW I always love your choice of fish.
