Let's all think positive thoughts!

I think acclimation is always the key. Once you get them adjusted and eating they stand a good chance of surviving, especially considering you already have naturally soft water. That's probably going to be really helpful. Most people who get the little ones report velvet or a velvet-like disease that usually occurs within a few weeks of import, then they just start crashing. It's similar to importing young altum angels which clamp up and die off in large numbers. Constant parameters, warm, clean water, and getting them eating will go a long way into putting you ahead of the curve.

Hey if you sell any pandas in the future let me know. I'm still down for the retros too. A lfs down here had special ordered a big panda uaru for someone and the guy didn't pick it up for months and they would sell it to me.

Thanks Ryan :) They ate very well today on bloodworms and crushed pellets. Offered romaine lettuce. It they didn't even look at it, lol. They look thin and very hungry.

They do look very thin. :( This isn't uncommon with wilds, though. My pandas were F1s so they were totally different fish, fat and sassy at 2". The good news is that they're eating, so they should start to pack on some weight once they settle down. All that stress from being caught, taken to the export facility, being shipped, etc. is probably really hard on them.

Goodluck Pete! I wish you best of luck with this batch! :) I'm sure this time around things are going to go perfect :)

Peter dear, for this thread will be a lesson for all of us, can you give us a little info?
Tank size, other fish with the uaru, temp etc.
