discus origins and rt 4 aquarium are expecting them next week. it is the season

Cool I knew they came in only certaine times a year I didn't know this was it. Are these juvi fish? I thought May was when the little ones came in. I guess I was wrong. Good to know.

Please, if you are getting wild ones, read up on the acclimation process. A lot of experienced keepers will tell you how difficult they can be initially. Once you get them past the first stages of acclimation they're okay, but it can be rough on the wallet. Look for peathenster's thread about the ones he acclimated last year.

They can dent the wallet especially if you experiance a high mortality rate during the inital acclamation process. Hopefully the vendor you get them from will worm them and keep them in QT for a while before releasing them for sale. This will understandably add to the cost of the fish but will help insure the fish you recive will stand a much better chance of survival once they are in your tank. If you have experiance with the acclamation of wild cought Discus or Altum angelfish then you stand agood chance with being sucessful with these guys they are very similar in their requirements. It is a worth while indevor if you have the time and money to do it right, you will need to get a group of these fish to increase you chances of sucess. Good luck to you, please post pictures and document you methods for others to read.
