It’s definitely possible he’s misrepresenting the story of how he got off; the witnesses in question may have been reluctant to testify because they lured him into a hotel room and pulled a knife on him, which already got his charges lowered down a few notches from the initial police officer’s hottake of “attempted murder”, which is indeed clickbaity.
Great, he's just hit 1'000'000 subscribers, and to treat us all and thank us what does he do? Does he go and build another amazing tank or something to leave us all dropped jawed at his DIY talents, or something else equally mind blowing that leaves us all gasping for more joey videos? No, he goes on a blubbering rant about some crap that has nothing to do with you or I.

OK, so you watched a video entitled 'Aquariums saved my life (emotional).' with a thumbnail that said '3 years in prison' and 'arrested for attempted murder' and thought it was going to be a tank build? Curious.
Joey has been asked many times to share his back story, a cursory glance through the comments on many of his video's would tell you that.
i only know he has no money to built his aquarium house but many many money to probably raise and buy more and more fishes
I dont think he's a good enough actor to fake that. Micro expressions and body language are rather telling. It makes me sad to see him pour his soul out, expose his humanity, to a community where he thought he'd found acceptance and a chance to feel redeemed, only to be so scathingly doubted and rebuffed.

Yes like you say they are. Working LP and HR I've done training in those fields. There is truth in the story for sure there is true remorse in the store for sure. But there is also "story" and embellishment in the story. I dont know where the two are and where they seperate though. I dont know how laws work in Canada either and why they would drop the case without the witness. There is enough evidence to convict or at the very least proceed. So that is where I start calling b.s. I could be wrong and have been before I am human. I agree that in his telling of this story I have actually lost a bit of respect for him not gained any. Its not because he has a bad past alot of people do. He could have told the story without the specifics that he did use after saying he was leaving out others he could have left out all spacifics.
He could have just said I was a bad kid. I was in and out of jail. I didnt graduate because of it . A sparkling moment in my life made me change we had kids I realized I needed to provide for them I needed to change. My wife got me a fish tank or tell that part of the story. I got my ged and now I'm a successful YouTuber. Like I said I dont know I really dont wish him ill I just think it was unnecessary to go into detail and or embellish the way he did. Somethings just dont add up and make me more onguard about him. Trust me ive had people break down and tell me terrible things and I believed them. It was truth and realized they were trully regretful and those moments look kinda like that video, but there are untruths there too. I think the more I see the more he becomes a conman a shister a grifter.
