Yep. It's all good. Going to make a more dedicated go at multis. I thought I was better then I obviously am with batch one.......realizing I suck is a humbling experience. $2k does not come easy for fish these days. Trading quantity for quality.

I hear ya there. That really would make me sick, especially with the amount I make in a week! LoL!!!

Some pikes can be tricky. Internal parasites are a bugger. Thats mostly why I've got all my pikes off of live foods, aside from earthworms and occasional ghost shrimp, its just too much of a risk to take.

Definitely do it bro! I know you can pull it off, and even get them breeding! YOU CAN DO EET!

No, I keep all my pikes separate in terms of species but do keep the species together. Make sense?

Atabapo II are rare, yes. They are even rarer in good condition, as they are exceedingly prone to HLLE (HITH). I think Jeff Rapps has some for sale now, or at least did last time I checked his list.

Yes Rapps has some, as well as WetSpotcx on Aquabid. They are definitely around. Low pH, SOFT water, and very clean water will definitely help to keep the HITH away.

Brian ~ I've been using straight rain water AND putting peat in the filters, haven't checked my pH or hardness since I started, but I'm pretty sure its down there in the lower numbers by now. The lenticulatas and johanna are really coloring up with reds now too. PLUS I think the HITH on my atabapo IIs is filling back in. Not sure if its my imagination or not, but it looks like its getting better!

That sounds like a winning combo to me, nice work!!
I will be gearing up for round two on the multis here pretty soon. The summer is my UBER BUSY season, so fish have to take a back seat for a while. This is my money-making time so I can play in the off season. Good to read that you and your pikes are doing well.

Thanks for the fast reply. Oh I didn't know Atabapo II are that delicate. I was just about jump on getting some from Rapps but now I may reconsider. I was impressed on how nice your mulitposonas looked. I've been on the fence thinking of getting some.

I have a 11" Lenticulata pike. I've always been fascinately by pikes and lent is the first pike I've ever own. Here is are pics.

Thanks for the info PP. I really didn't know the Atabapo II fish was such a pain in the butt to keep healthy. I really want one bad but based on what you describe it doesn't sound like a practical fish for me to keep.

They are easy to keep per say, just have to keep your water pristine and your pH low and water as soft as possible. Rain water/RO water and peat make that pretty easy, and lots of water changes.

Gorgeous female lent! She is definitely a keeper! Can see the red starting to come in on her face, about the same stage as mine is! Awesome!

Thanks. She is also a mean girl. She would pick a fight with my 17" kelberi then run away. My water here has a pH 7.8 and it's rather hard with calcium deposits. I do weekly waterchanges so hopefully that is enough to keep atabapo II and multiposonas alive. would you recommend to go for it?
