Hopefully he doesn't grow the fry out for too long so we can afford shipping! :grinno:

No way, the younger they are the better they ship so I won't be growing any out!

That's what I thought it looked like, just couldn't remember the scientific name. I was going to say it looks just like Geophagus Leucistic :)

Yeah I love Satanoperca leucosticta but they are really common, that's one of the reasons I keep this species instead. Satanoperca mapiritensis will likely be extinct in their natural habitat in the very near future so we need to do our part now to keep the species going. That is why I will be giving away the fry, people will be more inclined to keep them because they were free than pay for "colorful" ones.. ;)

"Satan's perch" baby!!! :headbang2

The fish are great. What is your substrate? Looks like sand, but the color variation is nice.

THanks

Thanks! I am REALLY picky about my sand. It is Lapis Lustre #1C (best sand on the planet) It's not cheap but looks x10 better than any pool filter sand or play sand. That and it's heavy but smooth so it vacs well and doesn't hurt the cory barbels or eartheater mouths. Here is a pic from the same shoot as above but shows the sand much better since it's an SLR pic.

You got it Dustin, keep an eye on the marketplace. When I get them available I will post them there. Have too many people in line to keep it all straight haha :nilly:

Those are some absolutely amazing earth eaters you got there! I hope they breed like crazy. That must feel amazing that youll be the first to breed them in the states. Good luck man
