Yeah I love Satanoperca leucosticta but they are really common, that's one of the reasons I keep this species instead. Satanoperca mapiritensis will likely be extinct in their natural habitat in the very near future so we need to do our part now to keep the species going. That is why I will be giving away the fry, people will be more inclined to keep them because they were free than pay for "colorful" ones..

The fish are great. What is your substrate? Looks like sand, but the color variation is nice.

Thanks! I am REALLY picky about my sand. It is Lapis Lustre #1C (best sand on the planet) It's not cheap but looks x10 better than any pool filter sand or play sand. That and it's heavy but smooth so it vacs well and doesn't hurt the cory barbels or eartheater mouths. Here is a pic from the same shoot as above but shows the sand much better since it's an SLR pic.
