btw, Diego's got nothing to offer Penn. The only way Diego wins is if Penn gasses but that may be unlikely now but we'll see. If Penn comes in great shape like he appears to be, there's no way Diego will tko or submit Penn.

I say BJ via UD or tko in the fourth

punch stats: BJ landed 150, Diego landed 8 with 27 failed takedown attempts. BJ completely shut him down

it happened almost like I called it. Diego had nothing to offer him. a lot of people was saying how dumb of Diego to keep trying to take it to the ground. The dude had no other options! either clinch and try for take down or keep blocking BJ's punches with his face. Penn's stand up is too far ahead of the whole lightweight division. on a scale of 1-10, Penn is like a 10 while the whole division is roughly a 6 or 7 at best. I felt like Kenny was #1 only behind BJ and we saw what happened there. The only guys I think may get the next shot is Gray if he beats Diaz and Frankie Edgar. But they will fall like the rest of them. I give Gray a better chance only for being a stronger wrestler.

Penn will clean up the division and try for another run at GSP with his new found cardio. The "BJ has no cardio" thing is dead and gone as far as I'm concerned.

BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez - Pretty predictable. BJ is better at everything than Diego is. This fight reminded me a lot of GSP/Jon Fitch. It was just a matter of time before Diego went down. The only thing that surprised me was that Diego stayed up that long.

Frank Mir Vs. Cheick Kongo - The overhand punch has become the finisher in modern mma. Chuck put it on the map, and many guys are using it to drop their opponents. Mir rocked Kongo with one, and Kongo couldn't do much afterward. Mir looked to be in pretty good shape, and Mir winning is good for mma. Kongo slips down the ladder again, "they are who we thought they were".

Jon Fitch Vs. Mike Pierce - Nice win by Fitch over a guy who was pretty dangerous, and was definetly tough. I guess the Alves fight is next since GSP isn't an option?

Kenny Florian Vs. Clay Guida - Florian just out-classed Guida in this fight. Guida is the most active with not doing a whole lot, and you just cant do that with guys who have real talent, and solid gameplans. Florian vs. Sanchez rematch is gonna be on the way.

Paul Buentello Vs. Stefan Struve - Struve is my boy. He has a ton of potential, and if he learns to fight his first rounds like he fought his thrid round, he'll have a lot more success. He wants to get in the clinch so bad that he basically just rushes in and takes a ton of shots on the way. In the third, he sat back and said, if you want to come into this range, you go ahead and try, and that is the way for him to go. He has great ground skills, and he is tough on his feet, I think he can be very good with some more time.

Alan Belcher Vs. Wilson Gouveia - Surprised it was over as quick as it was, Belcher is very good, and it will be nice to see him in a bigger fight next.

DaMarques Johnson Vs. Edgar Garcia - Nice to see DeMarcus get a win, and a pretty impressive one I think. He's got a lot of talent, just needs some more seasoning.
