i must be one of the few who can really appreciate Lyoto's skill set..... reminds me of the old days of MMA when people didnt understand the ground game and hated all BJJ and wrestlers.... years from now many people will adopt his style of elusive striking....... He is able to strike and land before his opponents.....

I totally agree with you. I love Lyoto and the way he fights. He is 13-0 right now and so far after every fight his face looks like he was never even in a fight and his opponents are all busted up. Tito was cut under both eyes went down from the knee in the 3rd round and was safed by the bell in the first round when he was in a crucifix and Lyoto bombed away on his face.

I definitely agree with you that his methods are effective...his record speaks volumes to that...what I meant to say was that I am more excited about watching a match that is more toe to toe, so to speak. I don't think I'm alone in that, and ultimately, isn't it the fans that decide whether a sport is worth watching? The Penn-Sherk fight is a perfect example of the kind of fights that I like to watch.

i agree lyoto is awesome, he has a great ablility to gauge distance. another good part of his game is his style. currently its hard to find and train with a sparring partner who has the same style. i'm sure alot of his opponents will be studying his tapes.

i wonder how he recovers after getting caught with something. has he been seriously tagged before?

i think his next fight is chuck. if he wins that, it should be rampage unless he loses to forest.

machida will be champ one day,............. i've been a following him since he beat franklin

he definately is top 5 in that division easy,..............

That would be an interesting fight, but I don't know if he'll get that right away. Where did you hear that? The problem is that weight class is stacked.

look at the UFC LHW class.

rampage, forest, chuck, shogun, wandy, jardine, evans, sokoudjou

rampage is set against forest already, so who does that leave from the UFC LHW that he hasn't fought, beat, or rank higher? dana isn't going to risk shogun, he has too much $$ invested in him. dana wants his money's worth. also wandy just won his forst fight, so dana is going to farm him for a few more fights. so that leaves chuck. the iceman has sort of peaked already, so he's sort of expendible. i guess they may throw jardine at him, but would it draw headlines? lyoto isn't the most marketable person. so it will be interesting to see how the UFC manages his future.

First, Chuck is still hurt. Also, why not Soko? And just because Wandy just won, doesn't mean it won't be him, he doesn't have a lot in the tank either and Dana knows it. I agree it probably won't be Shogun, or Jardine. Also don't forget about Alexander, while he probably doesn't deserve it, the crowds love him, and it's about the $$. Also, there is Matt Hamill, James Irvin, Goran Reljic (undefeated) and Thiago Silva (undefeated). I just think because of Chuck's injury, and the amount of other capable guys, he'll be fighting someone else.

I would actually like to see Lyoto go down to 185..... to face anderson silva..... Ive met lyoto before and hes was surprisingly smaller in person..... nice dude though.....

don't think it will happen,............ they're buddies

but i'd much rather see machida fight other 205'ers and would much rather see anderson fight other 205'ers.............. anderson vs chuck, rampage, jardine, forrest,.........
