Give it some good cover, shut the lights off, and hope for the best. As soon as it looks like it's turning around I would try to get it into a bigger tank. Try not to overfeed in that small tank and keep water temps stable. Good luck man.

On a side note...if you are looking for more L-14s, Snookn21 has them in stock for $30 a pop at that size (2"), though I'm not sure how much shipping would be to CA from FL.

edit: Goodnight :D

naw... i already asked snookn21.. in fact.. i was considering those before getting this.. but Snookn said that his are not for sale yet.. still too skinny.. shipping would probably be alot.. but if he does have it.. i would do more than 1 or a L-114 too.. i like L-014 and L-114...

I'll see how it does..... and i know where i can get a bigger one that probably wont die at 12"

"There is no reason to add salt to a freshwater aquarium containing plecos. All plecos come from waters that are low in salt content in nature and do not react well to added salts in the aquarium." this was taken from here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=93401
Maybe the salt is bothering him.

We'll its the next morning..

And i think he might just pull through..... He was swimming more this morning.. much more normal... still probably getting used to the 2.5 gallon tank...

I dunno if i'll move him soon.. but he's def setting down better than before... only time will tell i guess..

Thanks alll.. will keep updating on his progress....

DUDE.. Your IN CHINA... I'M IN THE US... its probably cuz you guys get all the Goldie to begin with and probably why Brazil is banning the export of these fish...

That's like saying.. ASIAN AROWANA ISN'T RARE... we have ALOT in China...

So before you say stuff like we got too many in China... why dont you use logic before you say stuff like that...

PS: don't derail my post like that unless your saying something helpful.... I will say that the salt is more of my knowledge of Arowana keeping and salt does help fish to breath better...(ROCK SALT) not table salt..

ok, if you insist...
using salt is very risky for pleco, that is my suggestion, hope to help

And I want to add some more comments about plecos in china, dude, just a discussion,

plecos are not easy to enter china, more than 99% of them cannot be imported legally,
most of the plecos we see in chinese LFS are smuggled from hongkong or taiwan.
so I think if we can get so many L14 here, you should get more L14 in US? maybe i'm wrong...

and we like to buy those rare or forbidden things, no matter if it's fish or something else. if a fish is forbidden to export, many of us want to buy it, even if it's not so popular before the banning, we are willing to pay alot for it. funny, right? lol

I'd get him out of that 2 1/2 g tank ASAP. I don't mean to be negative when you're having problems, but you should've never had an EBJD in there either. It's the space and volume they need. I like L14 very much. I debated between and L14 and an L75 and ended up getting the L75. Good luck and I hope you get him out of that tiny tank today.

All things considered he's a pretty looking pleco.
