I'd get him out of that 2 1/2 g tank ASAP. I don't mean to be negative when you're having problems, but you should've never had an EBJD in there either. It's the space and volume they need. I like L14 very much. I debated between and L14 and an L75 and ended up getting the L75. Good luck and I hope you get him out of that tiny tank today.

Ya.. he's back in the 10 gallon now.. he's just chilling again... the 2.5 gallon is really more of a emergency tank that i have for any small fish... I do have another back up tank..

For now.. I'm just more concern on keeping him alive and accumulate... I really hope he gets started on eating and stuff.. cuz these guys should not be going on sale at 2" In a way i'm angry at myself for doing such a quick water change when probably i didnt need to.. and another is I'm angry at how exporters try to make money on these plecos that are so small that are porbably not a good size to be exporeted...

But i've taken care of even smaller plecos before.... had a .5" Albino chocolate pleco and now its at 3"...

ANYWAYS.. He's safe for now.. but if he decides to eat or not.. i'll leave it to the pleco...

And on the comment about the L-014 in china... well.. its not something to brag about...

Keep in mind they're wild-caught and come in with parasites-or are exposed to parasites in all the places they are prior to getting to the LFS you buy them at. A couple rounds of PraziPro might be in order.

rofl, I cant believe you are so arrogant, you cant take other's advise,
I'm just telling you the risk of salt to pleco, and tell you the fact of L14 in China, and you seemed very irritable.
you know very little about the fact of pleco, the treatment and also the pleco market, there should be many rare pleco in US, but you dont know how to get them, you wont believe L14 is very common, because that will make you feel self-abased. and what if I told you more, some L46 in China are from US, they are CB in the US. you wont believe it, right? lol

Brag... Do you really think saying L14 being everywhere is a kind of brag? you are so childish, what if I tell you one of my friend paid 12,000USD for a 24K Hypostomus luteus. he can brag...I dont even have the material to boast, haha

btw, I really hope your fish will recover soon, good luck

Before you go on to LECTURE me about L-14 in china or any other plecos for that matter..

I like to point out to the fact that this thread is NOT a general discussion about Plecos or the commonality of L-14... It has nothing to do with that.. no relevant what-so-ever about that. So when u invited yourself to talk about how unrare L-14 it is in China.... i feel that that comment is so unnecessary. And for your information, if you think that for one bit i was being arrorgant.. you are very wrong.. I am here to seek the help from people about how to cure the L-14, which means i am already humbled by MFK members experience and knowledge of curing plecos...

So before you become too supercilious, please consider that i am on MFK NOT to talk about the pleco market, or china's pleco availability. I would be making a thread about L-14 availability or the market of plecos. So please do not defame my post.

I don't need you to berate me because quite frankly, your comments so far are not really about pleco curing, aside from the salt matter.. (which by the way, i understand that salt isn't a good idea)

I am only irritated because you are DERAILING this post, with your discussions about fish availability in China or Hong Kong or Taiwan.. So next time before you jump into conclusions about childishness, please understand that I am seeking help from people.

So I thank you for your comments about how pleco with salt is a bad idea.

the end..

jiapei and zerojquan85, please cut it out and try not to make your comments personal. Agree to disagree but there is no need to personalize your comments.

I mean L014 arnt that rare but I wouldnt call them common.. How is it doing btw? You said that the temp was at 86 in your tank and they like it between 77-84* I would keep them in about 80 but update us on how it is doing :)

Its doing well.. temperature is around 83, i want it to be slightly warm so that its comfortable.. I'll probably get a smaller driftwood too.. just to be on the safe side... soften up the water...

thats a nice looking pleco

Thanks! I really like them... their rather hard to find in LFS here in cali...

He's doing better now.. just chilling... i think he's been eating somewhat.. the cucumber with packed in pellets have been moved a bit.. but i dunno if he necessary ate any yet... I think i'm gonna try to get some zucchini as well... just to see what it likes.. and possibility some Hikari sinking pellet..

Will keep updating on the progress of this guy...

Try sandwiching frozen krill in between two 1/4-1/2" slices of zuchini, thats almost gauranteed to work in my opinion. I also use freeze-dried earthworms (from kensfish.com) and brine shrimp.

If you look close, the L-14 is really after the filling, not so much the zuchini ;) (the chunks missing from it are from the silver dollars)
