TrippLite 1200W inverter/charger with (2x) 75Ah sealed deep cycle RV batteries for the pumps. This is just to cover the 30-60 sec delay before the whole house 20kw generator kicks on.

Epic, I was just thinking about what I would do in the event of a long-term power failure (which isn't inconceivable given our rural location), given the value of livestock some of us keep it would be well worth investing in a set up like that.

I learned how important a whole house generator can be last time a hurricane blew through and I was without power for over 2 weeks.
New house has a 1,000 gallon in ground propane tank to fuel it with too. I can theoretically go a month off grid

Continued tinkering with sump layout in Sketchup.

The overflow box in the final section is set 1" below the overflow of the chamber before it. R/O water will be pumped into final sump chamber which will over flow into the small box. There will also be a float switch in that sump chamber that will top off evaporation as water level falls in that last section.

How easy will it be to clean the pre-filter material?

Not cleaning it regularly (every couple of weeks) could result in a build-up of nitrates in the system over time... and if it's a PITA you won't do it as-requently-as-you-should.

Perhaps plumbing the two pre-filters in parallel so that you can take one offline and clean it without stopping the whole system?

Prefilter canister for my closed loop.
I only ordered one to start with since I have never bought from PurFlo before.
(very nice quality. they are pricey, but built to last, everything is extra thick and rugged - professional grade product for sure)

It's going to be filled with 6" of 10 ppi blue filter foam and topped with a single layer of blue filter floss.

Would you guys run 2 or 3 of these in parallel to keep flow up and reduce time between clogs ?
