I never kept umbee but i wouldnt put a bichir in with it. They really arent built to fight back or defend themselves and would be no match for a cichlid thats not happy with it
Hello, I just wanted to update you guy's on the umbee, the last picture I posted was when I first got him or her , so I thought I would show how much its grown since then, also still no tankmates lol
lack of spangling on the body and fins plus the dark area in the middle of the dorsal would be my reasoning why I also lean towards female but at that size I can't say I'm 100% confident about that.
I have two umbee's growing out. I have two because I "thought" I picked a male the first time... I've compared pics & heard that if your umbee has black in the front of its dorsal fins & black in their pelvic fins, its female.
