  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so in the end i added a 12 inch florida garfish and a 5 inch polyterus senegalus, the umbee seems to always follow the gar but doesnt actually attack, very cautious though lol and for the polyterus he doesnt even realize hes there lol

Hello again, I might of found a potential tankmate for my umbee, I found someone in my area who's selling a 13 inch polyterus ansorgii who he assures is a fish that can hold his own against some pretty mean fish ( comes from a tank of peacock bass, jaguars and vieja) , should I give it a shot? Opinions?

That person gave you bad info. I'm not saying Polys and cichlids don't make good tankmates (I'm currently keeping them together) but I've seen it with my own eyes and a bichir is no match for a cichlid who doesn't want it in the tank. Infact they are pretty defenseless.

Sens are the smallest growing polypterus. I'd imagine at some point your goin to have to remove it.

thanks for the info, for now im keeping an eye on the tank so far so good
