DIESELMACK;976379; said:an adult tem would kill an umbie...1st if it couldnt swallow it then it would dispatch it by head butting it and killing it....adult cichla will enforce a full speed blow to a larger fishes midsection so forcefull it splits fish almost in half...and those that it doesnt damage in this way they destroy internal organs which most times death comes within minutes...it is a natural defense used by most cichla as adults during breeding and in defense of themselves against larger predators. Also keep in mind that cichla ARE cichlids and in breeding mode are just a brutal as any...mutiply that aggressiveness with the size of an adult temensis and you will change your mind.....of course all this fish vs fish is BS because who knows the circumstances ect in the wild or which fish involved may be a wuss![]()
ps...if you would like to donate an umbie I would surely feel confident enough to throw it into one of my tanks to test your theory

ahahah well that way be the case
how ever in a tank (a normal monster persons tank at most 350-380 gallons) i would think the umbee would win because out of all the Pbass ive seen in coms with REAL cichlids have torn fins and are usually swimming in the corner or really fast away from the cichlids. but like you said no opne really knows fersure what the outcome would be like.
