On their 1st attempted spawn they're allowed to make mistakes. You have many more spawns to look forward to.

Hi cjbarth, yeah I was hoping the mum was moving them but I watched a heap of unhatched eggs going in and nothing coming out....was her first attempt so may have decided that she would eat them coz of the other inhabitants being there.
I have some wrigglers so at least I know the male and the female are fertile.
I'll leave them to do whatever the pair want next time.

Hi EdCal, thanks! I really like having my parents and young on display. My 225 gal festae tank is in main living area, directly across from my 400gal community tank.

Be great to have babies in both at once!

Still have them and the male is around 18" now. They will never leave the fishroom.

chaps I'm down to 6 wrigglers, they look like strong ones though.
had 15 yesterday morn....
Hope they are all still in there tomorrow.
