Also, sexually mature is nowhere NEAR max-size for Dovii Jags go 18"+, I had them breeding at 8" for male and 6" for female

exactly what I'm saying. and I would say in an aquarium 20-22" full grown male.

Considering the fact most fish don't make it to max size in aquaria I'd say it's a good mesure.
