Got any Work today, Paid today type employment offices? Did you lose your job or quit?

You could try Home Depot or Lowe's. I worked at Home depot a few years ago when I was between jobs, it wasnt too bad. The pay wasnt spectacular but it was better than nothing (the pay was $13/hour)

You're not on unemployment?

Check out the Railroads in your area. You'll start out as a track man\laborer. Buddy up to the welders. Eventually, you will be able to bid on a welder's apprentice job. Once you become a welder, bingo you have a solid skill & are set for life.

ok, so i have been out of a job now for about a month and im have LITERALLY spent my last dollar. i need to find a job asap! any ideas? im 19 and have no expirience doing anything. i can sleep and play video games pretty well (though i think there is room for improvement.). any places online that have job listings that dont require 45yrs of college and 13yrs exp.?

You have no experience and apparently not a lot of motivation but, desperate and looking you ask for help.

1. Do you want fries with that?

2. Good afternoon, welcome to Walmart.

McDonald's is usually hiring. May not be the job you WANT, but it's a job, and money.

edit...dragonfish you beat me to it lol

You're given a recommendation, twice. Not perfect, but beggars can't be choosers.

yeah i filled out apps and what not. i cant do mcdonalds. i would rather be broke. im trying to stay away from fast food. i have done that and it just is not for me.

You refuse this possibility as beneath you.

Well then there's no need to complain. Hope you live at home with parents who love you dearly.

Typical response to the above statement and your age.

no i dont. they are both dead thanks. way to help man. instead of trying to help out further you just run your mouth. what a great guy.

Doubt the fact about your parents were known(my sincere condolences by the way). If you've already slapped the hand that tried to help you once it probably won't be extended again. Once again, doubt he knew so kind of a harsh response. Good luck in the real world.

dont take this the wrong way but a 19 year old with little experience and no money cant really afford to be that picky. use it as a time filler to give you some cash while you hunt for something better. it may not be job of the year like macD's would have you believe but its cash at least.

Sorry, if I knew about your parents, I obviously wouldn't have mentioned them, truly sorry. I'm not running my mouth, I'm making it plain and simple. Help out further? How can someone help another, WHO OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T WANT TO HELP THEMSELVES? I get so sick and tired of people complaining about not having a job and how it's so tough out there, when the truth is, they just really don't want to do what it takes. If you really need a job (obviously so), you would look at all options equally, not rule out the one's that you feel you are superior to.

If you worked more than 3 months and were fired you're eligible for unemployment - especially with the new extensions that have been granted by the President due to the economic crisis.

That being said, if you've got no wheels I'd just bite the bullet and work temp. at a fast food joint until you can afford the registration, then move on from there.

Beggars can't be choosers. Maybe you've got family with work to be done around their homes they could pay you for to help you out with registration?

You can also visit the Employment Development Department to find out when they're having job fairs and try your luck there - they'll also help you with properly filling out a resume (your introduction was pretty dismal).

If I were you I'd find part time work at a fast food joint or gas station and fill out a FAFSA for the next semester of community college to see what kind of financial aid you can get in your state. You're not going to get anywhere without a degree in the long run of things.

Or you could go the route I did at around your age when I realized I'd been screwing around too much in my younger years and join the military - it's not as scary as the movies make it and it changed my entire life for the better. :)
