dont take this the wrong way but a 19 year old with little experience and no money cant really afford to be that picky. use it as a time filler to give you some cash while you hunt for something better. it may not be job of the year like macD's would have you believe but its cash at least.
this dragonfish would have been the better way of putting things.

check out PSAV. They are usually hiring, and don't require much if any experience. It's an audio visual company, but are fully willing to train if you're motivated. National company, starting pay usually around $14.50

www.psav.com

Check your local petco/petsmart/lfs. I just got a job at mine.

Local businesses in the area, even if its not something you're interested in. I worked at a local flower shop for 4 years. Always easier to work with than the bigger companies. very flexible on scheduling, and not tedious work at all.

Go to college and apply for loans? Live for free for a few years. Pay it all back later.

I'd say put down the game controler and find something. Your first job (or close to first job) won't be your dream job. It will teach you to show up on time, wear a uniform and do what you are told by a manager. That will help you get the next job - which will be better.

Job skills are always the task you are doing, but instead the manner in which you do it.

Are you in college?

Sorry, if I knew about your parents, I obviously wouldn't have mentioned them, truly sorry. I'm not running my mouth, I'm making it plain and simple. Help out further? How can someone help another, WHO OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T WANT TO HELP THEMSELVES? I get so sick and tired of people complaining about not having a job and how it's so tough out there, when the truth is, they just really don't want to do what it takes. If you really need a job (obviously so), you would look at all options equally, not rule out the one's that you feel you are superior to.
its not that i feel superior in anyway shape or form. i want something i can grow on a bit and maybe something to stay with for a while. i have had many different types of jobs and fast food is not my thing. i have roofed, worked as a prep in a resturaunt, worked at a d&d, a subway, a lfs, on a fishing boat, for kirby... i would just generally rather do labor.

See if you can catch a ride with friends/family when they go places and look out along the road for hiring signs from places that don't advertise in the paper. Usually smaller companys, and companys that deal more with labor positions These companys will get less applicants due to exposure and therefore it'll be easier to land a job there. Also look in the phone book for any temporary job companys. Like Manpower, Kelly services, Addecco, etc. It will suck, and pay won't be great but most of their jobs you can do easily.

And the biggest thing I can tell you is get your butt in school. If both of your parents are decessed you should qualify for some sort of grants, and most everyone is qualified for financing usually through state/feds.

I know where you're coming from, I totally understand. Nobody wants to do that kind of work, and if they tell you otherwise, they're full of crap or 450lbs lol. I'm just trying to be honest with you. Sorry, I kind of get straight to the point, I don't like to sugar coat things. This is life, and with employment the way it is right now, you really have to take what you can get. And don't think that if you get a job somewhere you can't continue to look for something better. Honestly, if I were an employer, I would prefer an applicant to have worked a short term crap job to keep afloat, than to sit and wait, and wait, and wait for something to come up. It just shows you have the drive they desire.
