the first lesson anyone needs to learn about jobs is that there should never be a job that is below you. you will almost always have to start at the bottom and claw your way out. I'm a college grad with a degree in biology. I applied for close to 100 jobs and the only one i got was in a warehouse at a bass pro shops, stacking boxes. Clearly, this is a job that I didn't have to go to college for. (Not that it is a bad job, many of the folks i worked with supported families, however a degree in biology doesn't relate to the job whatsoever) I hated the job but it was money in my pocket, not a lot, but it was money. It literally got to the point where beggars couldn't be choosers, as stated before. I had to do something. So I continued to work there, while spending my free time applying for more jobs that were relevant to my degree. I soon found out that in the biology world, a bachelors degree doesn't amount to much, you need to go back for graduate school. So thats what I did. I make less money now than i did at Bass Pro, but I'm investing in a degree that will pay for itself in the long run.
The only advice i have for you is to get a job, regardless of how much you don't want to do it, how crappy you may think it is. Get some kind of money in your pocket. Don't spend free time goofing off with friends or playing video games or sleeping, get out there and look for better jobs. Or bite the bullet, be poor, get on loans and go to college. With the phenomenal state of today's economy, college is by far, your best option. Many places have put a freeze on hiring, but they don't stop granting college degrees during economic hardship. At least with a degree, you can make yourself more attractive to someone hiring, when the opportunity arises.
A very smart business man told me that any free time he has ever had at his job, whether it be a break or maybe a little down time during the day, he was online looking for better jobs. Never be content with what you have, always be on the lookout for something better. That man went from a job doing data entry (glorified secretary), to being a full blown satellite engineer who works for NASA.
I know it's hard, but you can pick and choose jobs and have no money, or get out there, take a crap job and get on the right track. Good luck to you.
