Uneven Floor

Long story short, week before last I bought a used 125 glass tank and got it home and set up and running. The next day I noticed water leaking from the top of one of the corners and it turned out the whole corner was coming apart. I repaired the corner and went ahead and did a complete reseal of the entire tank. Let it cure for 72 and am now on day two having it filled to do a leak test which all seems to be going fine. However, when filling it I noticed that the water wasn't level on each end and there's a 1/2" difference. I checked the stand and the floor and turns out the floor is the guilty party and is uneven. I live in a bottom floor apartment so it's not like I can do much about the floor. My question is other than it not being aesthetically pleasing and a little annoying, will it be a problem in any other way such as putting too much pressure on the one end? Should I cut a couple 1/2" pieces of wood and put them under the corner on the one end or just not worry about it?

Get plastic shims at lowes or home depot, wont get soft if they get wet

O well its a common problem. But not too worry. Home depot has those things. Sorry can't remember the name but these are small wood chip pieces you use a hammer to shove them under the surface you want to level. I would empty the tank , level it and then fill it back in just to make sure.

Ya most hardware places sell wood shims that are use to level things like door frames and what now. Just wondering how well they'll work for a something as heavy as a 125. Wasn't sure if I should use metal or not. I've had many tanks over the years, big and small, but I've never had this problem.

Good call on the plastic but just as the wood, will they be able to handle that much weight?

Shims are good for heavyweights. Your 125 should be totally fine

With a 1/2" difference, how much would I have to worry about the tank and stand bowing over time?

I live right by a Lowes. Wonder if they'll just cut a couple pieces of 1/2" thick metal.

I think my floor and stand different was more thank half inch. I layered two shims and sonfar so good.

The only thing I have made sure i used a level tool to check the level on different levels lol

But again I am not experienced with weights and spread weight placement. There are members here who's knowledge is immense. I am sure they will chime in as well.
