If my BD male ( Which I am pretty positive ) is the father then they will disappear. If it is the male Hen then good chance they could remain. Either way these will change. Spots will get white and the shadowing will disappear.Very nice! I love the copper bands, will those remain through the rays life or do they change drastically over time?
ThanksGratz!![]()

Thanks JasonCongrats! Great looking pups.
Thanks TimSuper nice Don!
I see, thanks! Does this end up looking better? If my BD male ( Which I am pretty positive ) is the father then they will disappear. If it is the male Hen then good chance they could remain. Either way these will change. Spots will get white and the shadowing will disappear
In my expierience almost all rays improve with age but this can go either way. I’ve seen ugly pups turn out amazing and amazing pups turn out average. This is why seeing the parents is such a big deal for some people. If the parents are nice then there is very little chance pups will turn out ugly.I see, thanks! Does this end up looking better?
Of course this is for true breeding. Hybrids is a different story. You can have two amazing looking parents and end up with an “ugly” hybrid. In my expierience almost all rays improve with age but this can go either way. Luckily I am 99% the BD male is the father...... Especially since the BD was the only one interested in her at end of summer and all physicalAh okay. That's a good deal then! Even cooler with the variation that rays have!In my expierience almost all rays improve with age but this can go either way. I’ve seen ugly pups turn out amazing and amazing pups turn out average. Similar with cichlids?Of course this is for true breeding. Hybrids is a different story. You can have two amazing looking parents and end up with an “ugly” hybrid.
What would determine the pups being ugly? Blurry spots, or is it just personal preference?Of course this is for true breeding. Hybrids is a different story. You can have two amazing looking parents and end up with an “ugly” hybrid.
