As an accountant I've seen many times where employers with responsibilities that take 40-45 hours per week get an extra 10 hours of work dumped on their desk just to boost profits, that should be illegal. If your hired to do a certain job an they increase your responsibilities without increasing your pay the company is stealing from you.
I know what you mean, my cousin fresh out of college with BA in Accounting got hired with starting salary of $65,000/year with full benefits exempted meaning no OT. But she is working 12-15 days during the tax season. Most of these company hire people fresh out of college to milk them because most would be very happy to get hire out of college and eager to accept most jobs with out thinking about anything else until it kicks in and your like damn this Fing sucks working like this. Anyone in accounting knows what I mean during tax season.
