Unplug your heaters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's been the topic of many a domestic row over the years. If I could get her to switch off lights and keep the heating at sensible levels, I would have cheaper bills and a near perfect Mrs.

LOL, I hear you Stan. Pretty much same situation here.

I think all we can gain from this thread is the fact it's horses for courses. Every situation can be different, there are more than one approach to keeping fish and several different approaches can work.
As long as the fish don't suffer you can leave your heaters on or take them out. You can even dance naked swinging that heater round and round, as long as the fish are comfortable then that's cool too.

What can we gain from this thread? That some people don't need heaters?

I’d report it man- enough is enough right? I mean 13 pages in 4 hours about imaginary stocking plans for tanks not purchased or owned is legit- but discourse on how / why we maintain our tanks temperature year round is total bs. At least I think so.

I hear so many men say the same thing. Women just can't turn off lights. ?

So true...but they can detect a toilet lid left in the up position in a bathroom on a different floor from across the house...something to do with a disturbance in the magnetic field of the earth, I think. If women were migratory, we'd all be in awe of their homing instincts.

Don't get me going on temperature control in the house, or for that matter in the car. My wife believes in two settings for heat: Full On and Completely Off. Thermostatic control? Apparently a myth in her world.
