unusual behaviour?

Hello; I think this is the third thread you have started on the same tank problem. Seems very likely the fish are suffering from ammonia poison.
While the lfs may not have given you much in the way of proper advice, the truth is this is a very common thing in fishshops.
i took the water to the shop and the test was fine. however i will test it tomorrow too. because of the fish dying i got given two kisser fish. i didnt want them but he insisted so now im going to have to put them in the tank too - im not too sure how this happened i feel a bit confused

Hello; So the same fish shop that gave poor advice before says the water is fine. Did they mention any numbers for ammonia, nitrites or nitrates? Did they use test strips?

So there is very little I can help you with without some of those numbers. I am and will be guessing only. My current guess is the tank was not set up properly and cycled before the fish were added. That there is too much ammonia in the water which is damaging the fish you have pictured so far. Adding more fish will not help at all.

May I suggest finding a different fish shop if that is possible.

Again, as skjl47 said, this is an non-cycled tank, and it has too many fish for an non-cycled tank, which is probably why they are dying.
You should only have a few guppies or other tiny, hardy species for the first 4 to 6 weeks.
Then and only then do you start adding more.
And do research on the fish you want, don't just start randomly combining fish because you want them. Some can live together in a certain size tank, and some can't. Some work for beginners, some don't.

I really wouldn't have added any new fish. I think this confirms that it's a dodgy shop.
The best thing now is to keep up the water changes and once your test kit arrives do a test and post the results.
You have the attention of a few of the veterans now so you will get some solid advice.

a different guy served us when i went back. he used a strip and the levels were light and the pH was good so im not too sure what is happening? i got my water testing kit today and i'm going to test the water and do a water change and then i’ll test it again but my fish seem to be doing fine at the moment. i fed them a bit yesterday so i’ll see what happens. thank you for being supportive of me :)

hello; Strips are not considered worth much by many. Use the new test kit.
May I suggest you get a gallon of distilled water. It is good for cleaning the vials. It also can be a "standard" of comparison to check and calibrate the accuracy of a test.
that was my water test and it isnt that good :/ i think i have messed this up but i guess it’s all trial and error. i’ll do a water change and test again and keep you updated. i’m also going to buy the API products they say to get in the leaflet in this testing kit because that would help me a lot.
