Unusual fungus/bacterial wiping out tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Seem to identified the issue as columnaris.

What a night it's been. I've had fish haemorrhaging on me, tried to bath the worst fish.

Only thing I know to kill it is a 1% salt dosage. which will mostlikely irritate the cats like mad.
Anyone know how long I need to leave the salt in for? I can't find that information
Until the areas start to clear up and improve. I’d say 5-7 days. This is also in conjunction with antibiotics that’ll start to kill off the bacteria.

Just got back in off a night shift .

The megs are still alive, even after one hemeraging, it looked like a murder had tooo place. Lol.

The missus bathed them in MB whilst I was working. I could stress enough, about watching the megs and her fingers. The big girls would remove them if she caught them.

The male whiskers seem to be going white. So I haven't my money on him.
We will have to see what happens with those.

Just finishing if myxzine treatment today. Then I'll add the treatment to kill the infection.

Wish me look.

The fish seem to be showing improvement, dear I say it.

I'm going to carry on with the treatments I've been using. To save any resistance from the bacteria.

I'm having the fish scraped and checked tomorrow to find out for sure what it is.

Then if anything else is needed. I'll go from there.

The megs are stull sore looking. But have a lot more fight in them. As I found out tonight trying to bath them.

The Arowana had fully cleared up.

I'll keep updating daily.
