Unusually quick cycle?

Ok...

I haven't tested since Monday, i figured it wouldn't vary that much, so i could just estimate what it was for those days. But, it appears the Ammonia has gone DOWN, ether that or I'm going color blind. It was lighter than .25, but darker than 0.

Could it be because i had the precured rocks in a tub for about a week before putting them in? Not a single hint of NO2/3, even the diatoms have already gone away, lasting a mere 2-3 days.

Remember that 23rd, 24th, and 25th are estimated.

What do you think?

it take me almost a month and a half before i felt it was safe to add fish.

I wasn't going to add fish, just noting how the decrease in ammonia.

I just found my bottle of "STABILITY" from SeaChem and it is also for use in Marine tanks as well... and believe it!! it WORKS!

Hmm, i'll see what i can find, i thought all live sand and rock would be enough to start it, i guess not... thank you.

That bottle actually looks quite familiar. Will look for it tomorrow.

Seriously look for it...it's available online as well, about 20 a 500ml bottle...really look into this product and it's claims...I can vouch for it...it really does work...

I added a three dead silversided in my big tub of live rock to get the ammonia to spike, It went SKY HIGH
the the TRITES went off the charts.
Now in two weeks my ammonia is 0 and TRITES are down to .25 and the TRATES are starting. I like the dead "something" to get the first BIG spike to ensure there is LOTS of bacteria.
I made the mistake in my first tank and it took two months to get a 0 TRITE reading because of no ammonia spike.

'I got silversides, its worth a shot... put it in pantyhose right?

Dang zenzzo, i don't have any of that stuff, i'll look into it this weekend, gotta get more food anyways...

This is pissing me off. i put 4 silversides in a Tupperware with holes in the lid in the tank over night, checked it this afternoon and it went down some more!:swear::WTF:

This is the first time i wanted to dirty up the water and couldn't

Parameters are now zero across the board.

I'm going to test the water immediately in the Tupperware, maybe it was inhibiting the toxins from seeping though.

If not, idk...
