I was going to use the pure ammonia but i didn't have any.

First off let me say i would never put a fish in a tank i thought was harmful.

I tested the water everyday to monitor the spikes, it went through two algae blooms, so something was happening in there. no matter what i did i couldn't get it to bloom any higher than 25-50 ppm. once i knew it was zero i decided to put my clowns in. (at this moment the water in the new tank was actually lower than in the current tank) i watched them, they loved the new place.

Tested everyday to make sure it didn't spike on me. it never did. just tested it now infact and it's still all zero, even after adding 2 chromis' a flame hawkfish and a condy anemone (lfs said it would be fine under medium light:irked: was abit werry about that) they all seem to be doing 110% condy found a spot, fish seem to be getting along verywell. so far so good.

My biggest worrys right now is getting a better heater, the one that came with the tank seems to be unreliable, but will have to do for now. I've been using the house AC at my expence to keep the temp from skyrocketing. Have 3 powerheads schedueled to arrive the 16th aswell.

Would it be best to continue corse or take all the fish out and put them in the nano for afew days and do the pure ammonia cycle?

Hows the cycling going? Im doing clear ammonia right now. I bought some at walmart. on my 60gallon salt I added 1.5 teaspoons to get up to 5 ppm. Im on my second week of curing and cycling my rock right now. Tank is eating almost all of the ammonia with in 24 hours and nitrites usually spike and drop down to almost zero. Also did the dead shrimp for the first 4 days but that damn thing stinks way to0 much.

Well, the ammonia is the only one that's FW, the rest came in a reef master test kit.

I went out to buy a separate ammonia, and they only sold freshwater. but it's always been accurate.

I am not reading through the entire thing but take note that the test is accurate but the color card is not for future refrence. The color cards for freshwater are slightly different and it does make a differance.

On a side note it took me a few months to cycle in my tank to where I felt safe adding things and I just do it in steps.

Well this is a surprise. The cycle ended a year ago and all went well. Have yet to run into any major complications.

glad it went well my bad I didnt look at the date either lol

hey otto. Im also glad things went well. Its been forever since ive been on this site. do you have a build thread anywhere?

Not really. This was back when I frist joined. I made a ton of question threads. Had a lot of questions back then. MFK has certainly improved my skills exponentially. :headbang2

Yeah, I haven't seen you round' laity. What you've been up to?

i actually have been on a different forum because of the local club i joined recently. Other then that, same thing different day. The 120 is getting there, but i have been having the biggest problem with IceCap 660 ballasts. They never want to work longer then 4 months before they stop turning on. Even after repairs, the same thing happens. Wondering if i need to inspect the wiring in the house and make sure theres not a ground issue or something. certainly has me scratching my head at times though.
