Up Close and Personal With a Sig Sauer...

Glad to hear you are ok....that is pretty traumatic, even if not right away. Give it a bit to sink in. I have been at the wrong end of a gun barrel 3 times, it messed with my head and I still have PTSD from it over 10 years later.

Gun control only limits law abiding citizens. Criminals don't give a **** about the legality of firearms. Case in point....

Glad you're ok, and that you collected some information. Hopefully there is no next time, but make sure to take mental pictures and events. All the information you can gather...

Huh. That seems kinda strange to me. Is there anyone there that is armed? It is a bank after all. If not, it seems that there is NOTHING standing between a thief and the money. Nothing to even deter them, because lets face it, it isn't hard to fool a camera...

Can't speak for the OP but i have a few friends who spent some time working as bank tellers. They were all trained to give the suspect whatever they want and to not escalate the situation. They want the suspect out of the bank asap. So i doubt they would allow them to carry let alone try to fight off the suspect. Not as glamorous as in the movies...

Anyways that must have been crazy, good to hear no one was hurt.

this^ as well, but if s*** did go down, at least if they were armed they wouldnt be fish in a barrel. We ALLLLLLLLLL know what happens when u shoot fish in a barrel

Alot of banks are insured these days. Even if they aren't, remember one simple rule: The locals tend to forget about a little cash in a drawer getting stolen. The locals tend not to forget when a security guard dies because the gunman got the jump on him. It's easier to replace some cash than a man, and you're less likely to lose business over it.

Also, I find it funny that you're screwed by our gun laws and you're not even in the state. Welcome to Illinois ;D

LOL, well the gun laws there don't prevent me from doing anything here but I know that most people in corporate over in IL have never even seen a firearm so the thought of me bringing one to work would never even be considered.

This is true. We are trained the same way. They say that MOST robberies do not involve a shooting but it isn't fun to be sitting there with a gun in your face wondering if you will be the exception to the statistics.

Armed employees at a bank? I doubt that will ever happend. Maybe an armed guard, but even then, I never see armed guards at any banks in my area. If I were a teller, I would NOT try and be the hero of the day and get shot for trying to protect the bank's assets. That's what insurance is for. I wouldn't risk my life over a couple bucks an hour. The robber could take all the damn money in the bank for all I care, as long as nobody gets hurt.

LMAO did somebody really "Set It Off" WTF is the world coming too... Please forgive me for laughing, but I share a simular situation... You should have asked him, "Does Wayne Brady have to slap a b$#@h"... He would have ran.
