Update After 4 Months - Pacu

so original poster, what's up with your set up? i'm not saying you're doing anything wrong. i'm just curious as to what it is and what your future plans are. if you like the look of those but don't want to get a 300+ pond/tank....you should look into red belly piranhas if you're okay with a single species tank.
 
You can find reds in ca but it's going to cost you op. Plus don't get phased by trollers/haters. It only fuels you to do better IMO. Man those rbpacus will become monsters! You definitely need to think ahead. I recently upgraded to a 125g for my 11 rbpiranhas, but I need to upgrade within the next year or sooner.. >.> man it's crazy!
 
Currently the pacus are okay in the tank. How much have they grown in eight month that you had them?

Long term wise, if you want a pacu like fish but in a more manageable size, look for red hooks or thin/wide bar silver dollars. They are just as colorful, a little expensive in the front end(my six costed about $30 each), but a lot cheaper in the long run.

I'm continuously disgusted by the arrogance of some folks...how can we get better without education? I will be the first to admit that I'm not all knowing with fish keeping, far from it...but how can you attack someone who is actively looking for help? It's cruel and a sign of poor values. Let's actually try and help for once...
