seriously though it's a freshwater cichlid (central american)

gold saum, regular jd,gold jd,any of the texas cichs,firemouth,convict, depends on the size of tank but,many types of vieja could work.

You name them & MFK will sort them out.If you choose.

He is freshwater but if i put neons or angels in he would nip at them. Or even try to eat the neons.

actually you may want to get a second opinion on having gold saums and texas as EBJD tank mates.... every fish is different but they might be a bit too much for your EBJD.
