is that a cinder block in there?

2, covered in epoxy to prevent any changes in pH. it makes a great hiding spot for the knife fish and the Pbass. it also gives the mata mata a spot to chill where he can reach the surface.

I love how these turtles always look like they are complacently grinning.

it's because they are all plotting to take over the world and we have no idea.

bump for updates....where can I get one?

no new updates and you can find them on kingsnake or at local reptile shows like repticon. They are becoming more and more common and the price for a small 4" mata is about $250-$300 depending on the locality and colors.

I am currently looking for a female for him and I would then move them into some deep stock tanks that I have and link the two of them together with a land bridge so that each one has about 300 gallons in their own corner and a place to lay eggs.

man I totally want a mata now! and now that I know it only needs a 135 I am just elated!

Being a potential 26" Turtle, a Mata needs a whole lot more than that.......
