Update on Acrylic Work

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Little update. Put together 5 frag tanks, I’ll get pics up tomorrow. I finished off the sealing of the bubble wall earlier today. I will be wrapping the upper part in live edge wood then inserting it into the gap between my kitchen and living room. Here’s a few pics of the wall

How did you get started working with acrylic bud?

started when I was 14/15 years old. I made myself a 90 gallon sump. 4x2x18” high. Then made a 360 gallon 6x4x2. Both were out of 1/2” material. At the time I never filled the 360 but sold it with the sump for some good change. Started making 4-5 tanks a year for next few years. Got pretty good at it and people started asking for custom work so I started building for others. Picked up a lot of pointers from both sign industry professionals and tank building professionals. I was offered a sister company focussing on tank manufacturing but declined at the time. Year or two later I placed a large order on acrylic with a long time friend of mine in hopes to start a stingray breeding/import facility. Ray market kinda tanked here so I took my share of the material and started building these last few projects. I still have around 30 sheets left so lots more projects to come in the future.

Never posted the frag tanks. All of them are identical to this one. 48x24x6.5” tall. I made one for personal use that is 44x24x12” tall. Top and sides are polished. Seams Came out as true perfection on these.

Nice to see you are still at it, my friend. Keep posting. Tank building is a challenge I'd love to try one day, so keep coming with those tips & tricks.
