update on JD's

get a few, and after you get a pair, get rid of all the other fish. an LFS will take them. they'll probably even give you some fish food or something in exchange.

in any event, you shouldn't keep two male JDs together and let them kill eachother.
 
If I wanted a pair of JDs, I would have only one male, and get 3 females. the male and one of the females will pair up, then get rid of the other females. if you don't want a pair (they're gonna mate), I'd get rid of the submissive male and get fish of a different species. those two JDs are going to continue to fight.

A green terror or a blue acara would go good with a JD in a 55.
 
oh ya i kno i actually got theem as a gift wen i got the tank.... i was gunna get a couple females but not many of the stores near me hav alot they barely even hav 1
