Update on my cats

Rock belly? Have I missed something?

Had a plant fall in the tank with hydroton and gravel and he swallowed some. Sometimes it's very pronounced and other times he looks totally fine. Acting normal, still eating well, even hand feeding. Not quite keeping up on growth with the TSN and the RTC is catching up a bit I think.

Finally did what I knew deep down I needed to do. All 300 lbs of PFS along with every bit of hydroton and gravel that made its way into the tank has now been removed. Hopefully the hybrid will regurge whatever he swallowed and he won't have a big belly anymore except after a meal.

Are these upchucked?

Why are his fins tattered?

I believe they are regurged. They were sitting on the now bare bottom of my tank.

The hybrid and the TSN are not getting along it seems. TSN is pretty inactive and doesn't appreciate the much more active hybrid bumping into him. The RTC is also quite active but the TSN doesn't seem bothered by him but he and the Niger both occasionally get a torn fin, I assume from the TSN.

TSNs can be funny. I have two ~1"+ in a 1000 gal. Very active. Fight often with each other; looks vicious but no serious damage - tattered fins and an occasional abrasion = bite mark. Never had this problem with the many TSNs I've kept before. Live and learn and wonder.

Just like it is said: 2 is not a good number with many fish.

Yeah I wonder if the similarity and maybe the two fish "rule" is part of the problem. My RTC is very active as well and the Niger, while generally sedentary, plows right into any fish that's in his way when pellets are involved. Neither of them gets much attention from the TSN.
